We understand there is national supply issues of some medicines that are prescribed for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Some ADHD medicines are still available, but supplies are variable. The supply issues are expected to resolve at various dates between now and December 2023.
In the meantime, stock availability is changeable and if you are unable to get your prescription dispensed, you may need to try several pharmacies. Depending on the medicine that you are taking, your GP or pharmacist may recommend a prescription for a different brand of the same medicine.
If there is no supply of any brand or dose of your medication, you will be asked to contact the specialist who started your medicine. The specialist will then decide how best to manage your medicine/s. You may receive a telephone call from the specialist or be asked to attend clinic for a medication review. Your GP will require written confirmation from the specialist consultant prior to any changes in medication or dose.
Thank you for your continued cooperation.
