Patient data is collected from general practice to support a wide range of research and analysis to help run and improve health and care services. It is collected from Rothschild House Group, as well as all other GP surgeries in England.
This is done by the NHS digital who for the last 10 years, used a service called the General Practice Extraction Service (GPES) but will now be replaced by the General Practice Data for Planning & Research. However, this will also help to support the planning and commissioning of health and care services, the development of health and care policy, public health monitoring and interventions (including coronavirus COVID-19) and enable many different areas of research such as:
