As you are aware we have recently needed to make a number of changes to how we operate and see our patients. In order to protect our staff and clinicians we now need to take further measures as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic and government guidance regarding social distancing.
As of Monday 30th March, we will be closing our main site, Rothschild House, to all walk in patients. We appreciate this will cause some concern but please be rest assured the practice will continue to operate at other sites and the following measures will be in place:
- Staff will continue to answer phones on the main Rothschild House number and book appointments as needed. Our receptionists will continue to screen patients before booking appointments and we appreciate your patience as we do this. We will continue to book all GP appointments as telephone calls and the doctor will book a face to face appointment, if they think it is necessary.
If the doctor does need to see you, your appointment will take place at one of our other sites – The New Surgery, Markyate or Milton House in Berkhamsted. You will be offered a choice of site and we will be sending extra clinical staff to these sites to ensure no reductions in appointments. Patients registered at The New Surgery and Berkhamsted Group Practice please be assured this will not impact your current services, we would ask that you please continue to contact these surgeries using existingmethods. Our Pitstone site is currently also closed to all walk in patients, please see below regarding prescriptions and delivery of your dispensed medicines.
We do recognise that the extra time on the phones triaging appointments may mean a longer wait to get through to the surgeries, however, we are doing everything to ensure patient and staff safety at this time.
In respect of medications and prescriptions,we are working with the local Government Covid-19 support groups to arrange for all dispensing patients to have their medication delivered to them once a week, starting next week. Urgent collections may still be collected at the Rothschild House surgery using the doorbell at the staff entrance to the side of the building.
From Monday 30th March please do not attend the surgery at Chapel Street unless specifically requested or directed to.
Thank you to all our patients for their patience and understanding as we implement these changes, which will be constantly reviewed in the light of the latest government advice.
